Display Tags by Language

This setting is available on the Regular Plan only.

By adding both English and Japanese tags to your products or blog posts and combining them with Shopify Translate & Adapt, you can automatically show only the tags that match the visitor's selected language.

Add both English and Japanese tags to your products or blog posts.

Example:

Quantity Limits ← English tag
個数制限        ← Japanese tag

Open the target page (collections, blogs, etc.) in the theme editor and add the "Tag list (Regular Plan)" app block.

Approach: Specify tags you do not want displayed

Best for: When few tags need to be excluded

Enter each Japanese tag on a new line in the "Exclude tags" field of the app block. This hides Japanese tags when English is selected.

Example:

Click "Save."

Open Shopify Translate & Adapt and select the target page template.

Enter each English tag on a new line in the translation field for "Exclude tags." This hides English tags when Japanese is selected.

Free Shipping

Click "Save."

Best for: When you want strict control over which tags are displayed

Enter each English tag on a new line in the "Priority tags" field of the app block, and enable "Show only priority tags." This shows only English tags when English is selected.

Open Shopify Translate & Adapt and select the target page template.

Enter each Japanese tag on a new line in the translation field for "Priority tags." This shows only Japanese tags when Japanese is selected.

Use the exclude tags method if you have few tags to exclude or want newly added tags to appear automatically.

Use the priority tags method if you want precise control over which tags are displayed or if managing a long exclusion list becomes difficult.

For the exclude tags method, add the new tag to both the "Exclude tags" field in the app block and the translation field in Shopify Translate & Adapt.

For the priority tags method, add the new tag to both "Priority tags" in the app block and the corresponding translation field in Shopify Translate & Adapt.
