Configure Which Tags Display and Their Order

Learn how to use excluded tags, priority tags, and the priority-tags-only setting.

You can exclude tags you do not want to display, move selected tags to the beginning of the list, or display only specified tags. Use excluded tags and priority tags according to your goal.

  • Hide selected tags: Use "Exclude tags." This setting is available on every plan.

  • Move selected tags to the beginning: Use "Priority tags." This setting is available on the Light plan and higher.

  • Display only specified tags: Use "Priority tags" and "Show only priority tags." These settings are available on the Light plan and higher.

In "Exclude tags," enter one tag per line for each tag you do not want to display.

(1) Open "Settings"

From the left menu in RuffRuff Product & Blog Tags, open "Settings."

(2) Enter excluded tags

In "Exclude tags," enter one tag per line.

(3) Select a matching method

(4) Save the setting

Note: Excluded-tag matching is case-sensitive. Match the spelling and capitalization of tags assigned to products or blog posts.

Prerequisite: Priority tags are available on the Light plan and higher.

If a priority tag exists on the applicable page, it appears at the beginning of the tag list in the order entered.

To hide every tag other than priority tags, enter the priority tags and enable "Show only priority tags."

(1) Enter priority tags

Enter one tag per line in the applicable priority-tag field.

(2) Enable "Show only priority tags"

Enable the product setting for product tags or the blog setting for blog tags.

(3) Save the setting

Select "Save."

Note: When "Show only priority tags" is enabled, only priority tags that also exist on the applicable page are displayed. Match the entered text to the tag spelling and capitalization.

On the Regular plan, you can configure excluded tags and priority tags separately for each template from the "Tag list (Regular Plan)" app block.

App block settings take priority over shared settings on the Customization page.
